Enhance Adhesion with 3M™ Primer 94: The Ultimate Surface Preparation Guide
Promote exceptional adhesion between 3M tapes and various surfaces, including polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, PET/PBT blends, concrete, wood, glass, metal, and painted metal surfaces, with the powerful 3M™ Primer 94.
Achieving optimal results:
Prepare the surface: Ensure the bonding surface is clean and dry. Use a 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol and water mixture to clean contaminated surfaces. A lint-free cloth is recommended for this step.
Apply with precision: Shake well before use and apply a thin, uniform coating to the bonding surface. Use the minimum amount necessary to fully coat the surface.
Allow proper drying: Let 3M™ Primer 94 dry thoroughly before applying the tape. At room temperature, this typically takes just 5 minutes. Ensure the primed surface remains uncontaminated before tape application.
Porous surfaces may need extra care: For uniform coverage and strong adhesion, porous surfaces may require two applications of 3M™ Primer 94. Allow the first coat to dry before applying the second.
Choose your application method: Use a brush, swab, pressurized flow gun, knurled roller, or similar application equipment to apply the primer.
Clean-up made easy: If necessary, remove 3M™ Primer 94 with isopropyl alcohol. Note that vigorous scrubbing may be required.
Unleash the full adhesive power of 3M tapes with the reliable and versatile 3M™ Primer 94.
