E-Zee Film Laminate 3218 – 2 mil Heat-Activated Polyurethane Film

Professional Patch Backing & Embroidery Sealing Solution

E-Zee Film Laminate 3218 is a 2 mil translucent polyurethane film designed for clean, durable finishing of embroidered patches, badges, and emblems. Featuring a single-sided heat-activated adhesive and a release paper backing, it eliminates fraying, enhances structural stability, and ensures a smooth finish on the reverse side of sew-on patches.

This versatile film is ideal for use on a wide variety of materials, including heat-sensitive and vinyl-coated fabrics, and is especially effective for sealing embroidery on water-resistant garments.

Heat Press Settings:

  • Temperature: 248°F to 266°F (120°C to 130°C)

  • Dwell Time: 20–30 seconds

  • Pressure: 2.8 to 4.2 Bar (40–60 psi)


How to Apply – Patches & Emblems:

  1. Hoop the base fabric, crinoline, or stabilizer and complete embroidery.

  2. Remove from hoop.

  3. Place E-Zee Film Laminate on the back of the design with release paper facing up.

  4. Use a heat press or iron to bond the film (see recommended settings).

  5. Allow to cool, then peel off the release paper.

  6. Cut patch to shape and finish edges with a serger or zigzag stitch.


How to Apply – Sealing Water-Resistant Garments:

  1. Cut the film slightly larger than the embroidery.

  2. Position it on the back of the design with release paper up.

  3. Heat press or iron using correct temperature for the garment and film.

  4. Cool, then remove the release paper.

  5. Use a press cloth or silicone sheet as needed to protect delicate fabrics.

Note: Always consider the garment’s heat tolerance when applying.
