Our Patent Genuine Silver Leaf is a genuine metal leaf, produced to our own high specification. Each leaf is research-grade and is guaranteed to contain at least 99.9% silver. These extremely thin leaves are ideal for gilding, art and craft projects, as well as other applications where a touch of luxury is required. The leaf is packaged in booklets of 25 leaves and each booklet is supplied with a protective sleeve. A pack of 500 leaves covers approximately 39.6 square feet. Patent Genuine Silver Leaf is also known as Loose Leaf Metal or Loose Silver Leaf. It is an adaptation of the traditional Patent Gold Leaf used by professional gilders for centuries. Patent Gold Leaf is made from pure gold that has been beaten very thin (23Kt) and deposited onto a backing sheet (usually rice paper). Patent Genuine Silver Leaf uses the same process but with .999 fine silver instead of gold. Unlike imitation silver leaf, which is usually made from aluminum, Patent Genuine Silver Leaf will not tarnish or discolor over time and can be worked just like traditional Patent Gold Leaf. Patent Genuine Silver Leaf offers a wide range of creative possibilities for artists, crafters, hobbyists, and gilders alike.
