FEATURES: 3801 Foil Adhesive is a versatile solution for creating stunning metallic foil designs on textiles.
This adhesive can be applied directly onto fabric, allowing for foil application onto the dried adhesive. Alternatively, it can be printed directly onto foil for conventional transfers (mirror image).
Designs produced with 3801 Foil Adhesive are suitable for both light and dark fabrics, offering flexibility in design choices.
SPOT FLASHING: When spot drying 3801 Foil Adhesive, expect minimal after-flash tack. Adjust dwell time based on the spot dryer used to prevent ink tackiness. Partial fusion during spot drying ensures a touch-dry surface, avoiding inter-coat adhesion issues. Final curing should be completed in the dryer.
FOIL APPLICATION: For foil application, place the colored side up and the dull side (aluminum) down. Immediately rub the foil with an eraser after application to eliminate wrinkles. Allow the transfer to cool completely (20 to 30 seconds) before removing the foil sheet slowly.
Application Temperature: 300°F to 325°F (149°C to 163°C). Start with a lower temperature for optimal results.
Application Time: 10-15 Seconds.
Application Pressure: For T-Shirts: Medium (40lbs.) For Sweatshirts: Medium to Heavy (40lbs. to 60lbs)
For a vibrant foil effect, remove the foil promptly after application. To achieve a textured matte finish, re-seal the garment in the transfer press for 3-4 seconds after removing the foil carrier film.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: For enhanced durability of applied foil, it is recommended to hand wash or machine wash (delicate cycle) garments inside out, then line or air dry. Avoid using bleach and ironing over the printed area.
Note on Screen Mesh Selection: For T-Shirts: 86 to 110 t/in or 34-43 t/cm mesh. For Sweatshirts: 74 to 86 t/in or 30-34 t/cm mesh.
Conduct thorough dryer temperature tests and wash tests during production for quality assurance.
