Important Temperature Note:
Foil itself does not require heat to transfer. It can transfer cold to packaging tape because the tape is naturally tacky. However, the foil adhesive requires heat and time to become tacky and activate properly. Always consult your adhesive manufacturer for the recommended curing settings.
Excessive heat can damage the foil color and affect release performance, so avoid using temperatures higher than necessary.
Print your design using a foil adhesive.
Recommended Setup:
Mesh Count: 60–110 mesh (24–43 cm)
Tip: Ensure your screen has proper tension
Tip: A thicker-than-normal EOM stencil improves adhesive coverage
Tip: Thoroughly mix adhesive before printing to soften it
Tip: Shear the adhesive through the screen rather than pushing
Either of the following methods works well:
Print → Flash → Print → Smoothing Screen
or
Two Print Strokes → Smoothing Screen
Place the textile foil color side up over the printed adhesive area.
Apply heat using the recommended settings above.
Lightly rub the foil with a soft cloth, then peel it away.
Warm peel or cold peel both work
This is a general transfer process. Always test foil performance with your specific materials, adhesives, and production conditions to determine the best settings for your facility.
